Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking a skilled Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney to join its Long Beach, California office. This full-time position offers a hybrid work model and is well-suited for attorneys with 2 to 7 years of litigation experience. Prior insurance defense or bodily injury litigation experience is preferred but not required. The role provides an opportunity to work within a collaborative, fast-paced environment and contribute to high-quality legal outcomes for clients across a variety of insurance matters.

Location:

  • Long Beach, California

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and supervise research activities performed by paralegals

  • Prepare and draft pleadings, discovery, motions, legal briefs, and client reports

  • Collaborate with legal teams and counsel to support litigation strategy and execution

  • Participate in court proceedings, depositions, and settlement discussions as needed

  • Maintain organized case files and meet all legal and procedural deadlines

  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal staff

Requirements:

  • 2 to 7 years of legal experience, preferably in insurance defense or bodily injury litigation

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced legal environment

  • Excellent communication and legal writing skills

  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities

  • Willingness to work in a hybrid setting and collaborate with remote teams

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. state (California preferred)

Skills:

  • Legal research and analysis

  • Drafting litigation documents including motions and pleadings

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong oral and written advocacy

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities simultaneously
