Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Litigation Attorney in Folsom, CA. This role involves significant client interaction and immediate case responsibility. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff, receiving ongoing training and support. The position requires comfort with technology platforms, including Microsoft Office and Outlook, with familiarity in Clio Manage being advantageous. A minimum of three years of litigation experience is required, with trust and estate litigation experience preferred but not mandatory. Active membership in the California State Bar is essential.

Duties

  • Appear in person and remotely for client hearings and meetings throughout Northern California.
  • Take ownership of assigned cases and communicate needs with the team.
  • Navigate the judicial process using proper procedures.
  • Bill for all time to meet or exceed the billable hour requirement.
  • Attend mediation and trials.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Draft and respond to discovery.
  • Draft and respond to law and motion matters.

Requirements

  • Active member of the CA State Bar.
  • 3-4 years of litigation experience; knowledge of trust and estate litigation or California Civil Procedure is a plus.
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Commitment to teamwork, client service, and professional growth.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Active California State Bar membership.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with Clio Manage is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and emotional intelligence skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
