Job Overview

A law firm seeks a full-time Divorce, Marital & Family Law Attorney in Fort Myers, FL. The attorney will manage a diverse caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and property division. They will work closely with clients to develop legal strategies and represent their interests in court.

Duties

  • Provide legal counsel and representation in family law cases.
  • Draft and file legal documents such as petitions, motions, and agreements.
  • Conduct client consultations and develop case strategies.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and case law.
  • Manage case files and maintain accurate and organized records.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to provide comprehensive legal services.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of family law experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Florida family law statutes, rules, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Member of The Florida Bar in good standing.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.

  • Effective negotiation and advocacy skills.
