Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Counsel with over 10 years of insurance experience in Dallas, Texas. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and independent attorney with a strong interest in complex insurance coverage litigation matters. This role involves representing domestic and international insurers, focusing on complex insurance coverage analyses and disputes involving bad faith and business interruption claims.

Duties

  • Analyze first- and third-party insurance policies and provide coverage advice to clients.
  • Assist in federal and state litigation, including declaratory judgment actions.
  • Draft pleadings, motions with supporting briefs, and mediation statements.
  • Correspond with opposing counsel, clients, and the court.
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis.
  • Draft discovery requests and prepare subpoenas.
  • Review and manage document productions.
  • Take and defend depositions, hearings, and mediations.
  • Assist in locating and managing experts and consultants.

Requirements

  • Admitted to practice in Texas.
  • Experience in insurance coverage, third-party property, and premise liability preferred.
  • Litigation experience required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
