Job Overview

A law firm seeks an admitted attorney for a promising Post Conviction Relief Attorney position in Los Angeles, CA. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in both criminal and immigration law, working with an established firm in California. The attorney will report to the Supervising Attorney and collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal assistants.

Duties

• Advise clients on legal rights and draft legal documents related to their cases.
• Handle post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, and early termination of probation.
• Attend motion hearings and advise clients on strategies post-hearing.
• Manage open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing.
• Conduct court appearances, draft motions, interview clients, and perform legal research.
• Analyze probable case outcomes using legal precedents.

Requirements

• Experience in criminal defense or immigration law.
• Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local level.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in California.
