Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its Kona, Hawaii office. The candidate must reside in Hawaii and will be responsible for handling various legal duties, including court appearances and litigation tasks.

Duties

  • Prepare and attend court appearances within reasonable travel distance.
  • Request court coverage and attach necessary documents when unable to appear.
  • Draft, review, and file motions during litigation.
  • Prepare for trials and arbitrations, which may require overnight travel.
  • Communicate with consumers, their employers, and attorneys to resolve accounts and suits.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Hawaii; additional state licenses are welcomed.
  • Ability to appear in court consistently and on time using personal transportation.
  • Willingness to travel, with reimbursement for approved expenses.
  • Strong multi-tasking, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Hawaii.
