Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will be licensed and in good standing in Texas, with a minimum of two years of experience as a practicing attorney. The role involves title review, curative responsibilities, and foreclosure tasks across Texas. Preference is given to candidates also licensed in GA, AL, or MS. This position offers a hybrid or remote work arrangement based on experience and location.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload of contested and uncontested matters for mortgage lenders and investors.
  • Appear in court to argue motions for foreclosure, eviction, and title disputes.
  • Communicate regularly with clients for updates and case resolutions.
  • Analyze loan files and title reports, drafting motions and discovery responses.
  • Review title examinations and recommend solutions for title issues.
  • Execute recommendations to resolve title issues promptly.
  • Review foreclosure documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Communicate with insurers and external parties effectively.
  • Create and edit reports, opinions, and correspondence.
  • Monitor and progress an independent caseload efficiently.
  • Develop strong relationships with insurers, vendors, and team members.
  • Update case management systems accurately and timely.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree, licensed in Texas, and in good standing with the Texas Bar.
  • Experience in Texas default servicing and foreclosure litigation preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws.
  • Familiarity with Texas Title Standards and Mortgage Foreclosure Law preferred.
  • Minimum two years of related real estate and title review experience.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas

Skills

  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and internet research.
  • Familiarity with case and document management software.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Professionalism and courtesy in communication.
