Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level Commercial Litigation Associate in Oakland, California. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of complex litigation experience and a strong academic background. Duties

  • Manage all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through trial and appeal.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda.
  • Prepare briefs, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Conduct and respond to discovery, including depositions.
  • Collaborate with clients, witnesses, experts, and other counsel.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of complex litigation experience.
  • Strong writing and case management skills.
  • Experience handling clients and adversaries.
  • Excellent oral advocacy skills.
  • Deposition and court experience preferred.
  • Previous law firm experience strongly preferred.
  • Interest in first party insurance bad faith and financial services litigation is ideal.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in California and in good standing.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of California.
