Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Corporate Associate specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions to join its team in Chicago, Illinois. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in M&A, private equity transactions, and complex restructurings, and will thrive in a collaborative environment working with colleagues both locally and globally.

Duties

  • Lead M&A deals from inception through closing.
  • Serve as the lead draftsperson for primary transaction documents.
  • Manage multiple deals simultaneously.
  • Interact with clients and opposing counsel effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary and cross-border teams.

Requirements

  • Five to seven years of law firm experience focused on M&A and related transactions.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead complex transactions.
  • Strong client interaction skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.

Skills

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
