Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Litigation Attorney in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Mortgage Default, Real Estate, and Title litigation. This role involves managing a diverse caseload and working directly with clients to provide strategic legal recommendations.

Duties

  • Draft complaints, dispositive motions, and settlement documents.
  • Attend court hearings, including motion hearings and trials, throughout Michigan.
  • Review and respond to discovery requests and conduct depositions.
  • Investigate facts and legal issues to determine causes of action.
  • Research and interpret statutes, rules, and case law.
  • Ensure deadlines are maintained and enter billable time.
  • Comply with client requirements and provide strategic recommendations.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan.
  • Licensed in the Eastern District of Michigan; ability to gain licensure in Western District.
  • Minimum 2 years of litigation experience.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active member of the State Bar of Michigan.

Skills

  • Proficient with LexisNexis Advance and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Case Management Systems (Case Aware Software a plus).
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Excellent research and investigative skills.
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
