Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Poland, OH, is seeking a litigation-focused attorney with a strong background in personal injury matters. The ideal candidate brings tenacity, sound legal judgment, and a proven ability to manage an active docket in a high-volume environment. This role involves direct client interaction, strategic case management, and collaboration with both internal legal teams and external stakeholders. Duties:

  • Conduct a detailed investigation of the case facts and assess damages

  • Negotiate settlements, including the resolution of medical and subrogation liens

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, insurance adjusters, court staff, and opposing counsel

  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to align with firm's objectives

  • Oversee and guide paralegals and other legal support staff

  • Manage court filings, client communications, discovery, and pre-trial preparation

  • Attend mediations, depositions, and court proceedings as necessary

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in personal injury litigation (plaintiff or defense side)

  • Background in insurance defense or prior claims handling is highly desirable

  • Familiarity with court procedures, evidence rules, and settlement strategy

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active and good-standing membership with the Ohio State Bar

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities

  • Excellent negotiation and settlement strategy skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience using legal practice management software (experience with Needles is a plus)

  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines
