Job Overview

A law firm seeks a full-time Associate Attorney in Hermosa Beach, California, offering a hybrid work schedule. This position involves managing a diverse range of civil litigation matters, providing opportunities to work on complex cases with direct client interaction and significant responsibility.

Duties

  • Manage civil litigation matters in areas such as employment, commercial disputes, professional liability, premises liability, and directors and officers defense.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests.
  • Assist with trial preparation and provide trial support.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Attend court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and site inspections.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience.
  • Experience in employment or commercial litigation preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple phases of litigation.
  • Willingness to travel locally as required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in California.
