Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its Napa, CA office. The ideal candidate will be a California-licensed attorney with three to five years of litigation experience, particularly in insurance defense, property damage, premises liability, and products liability. Experience with ESOP, ERISA, and corporate matters is advantageous. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced litigators and corporate attorneys, providing a platform for professional growth and client relationship development.

Duties

  • Manage a caseload of litigated claims.
  • Prepare for trial, including strategy discussion and witness preparation.
  • Conduct research into complex litigation areas.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Prepare and argue motions.
  • Attend hearings and communicate with clients.
  • Draft settlement agreements and other contracts.
  • Support non-litigation corporate matters, including ESOP formation.

Requirements

  • California bar admission.
  • Three to five years of litigation experience.
  • Experience in insurance defense and liability cases.
  • Familiarity with ESOP and ERISA is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active California Bar License.
