Duties

• Develop case strategies and guide paralegals and legal assistants.
• Handle full caseloads independently from inception to resolution.
• Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare memos on complex issues.
• Appear in court for various family law proceedings.
• Prepare clients for trials and advocate on their behalf.
• Oversee division of marital assets and negotiate settlements.
• Maintain organized client files with accurate documentation.
• Cultivate client relationships with clear communication and support.
• Prepare legal documents for a high volume of cases.
• Collaborate with paralegals and senior partners for swift action.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years in family law litigation and courtroom advocacy.
• Licensed to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
