Job Overview

A law firm seeks a senior-level attorney to join its Real Estate practice in Richmond, Virginia. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in handling sophisticated commercial real estate transactions and will be prepared to assume significant responsibility in a dynamic and growing transactional practice.

Duties

  • Work directly with partners and clients on complex commercial real estate transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents.
  • Lead title, survey, lease, zoning, and diligence review.
  • Coordinate closings and manage transaction teams.
  • Assist clients in evaluating and resolving legal and business issues.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of commercial real estate experience.
  • Strong background in acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, development, and closing transactions.
  • Comfortable drafting and negotiating various transaction documents.
  • Experience with diverse real estate matters is strongly preferred.

Education

  • J.D. is required.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in Maryland or Virginia is preferred.
  • Must be admitted or eligible to waive into the jurisdiction where the office is located.

Skills

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong academic credentials and good interpersonal judgment.
  • Diligence, attention to detail, and ability to manage transactions independently.
  • Confidence in interacting with clients and other transaction participants.
