Job Title: Trust And Estates Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a seasoned Associate Attorney to join its trusts and estates practice. This role offers the opportunity to advise clients on estate planning, fiduciary representation, business succession strategies, and contested estate matters. Duties:

  • Collaborate with individuals, families, and fiduciaries to structure customized estate plans, including wills and trusts

  • Advise clients on advanced wealth preservation strategies and generational planning

  • Represent fiduciaries in the administration and settlement of trusts and estates

  • Handle guardianship and conservatorship proceedings

  • Navigate and resolve contested probate and estate litigation matters

  • Translate complex legal and tax matters into actionable advice for clients

  • Manage matters from inception through completion, maintaining efficient workflows

  • Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth case progression and timely deliverables

  • Maintain compliance with professional and ethical standards

  • Perform additional related responsibilities as necessary

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in trust and estate planning and administration

  • Admitted to practice law in Minnesota and good standing with the State Bar

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex and sensitive client matters independently

  • Experience with both contested and uncontested estate proceedings

  • Solid understanding of probate law, tax implications, and fiduciary responsibilities

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school with a strong academic record

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Minnesota (required)

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially when conveying nuanced legal concepts

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Pro
