Job Overview

A reputable law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Litigation Practice Team across multiple Michigan offices, with a preference for Grand Rapids. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside a thriving team of trial attorneys who represent clients in state and federal courts, administrative proceedings, and appellate courts throughout Michigan and the Midwest.

Location

  • Grand Rapids, MI

Duties

  • Assist with a variety of commercial litigation matters.

  • Represent clients in state and federal courts, administrative proceedings, and appellate courts.

  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.

  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies.

  • Manage multiple litigation cases simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.

  • Provide outstanding client service and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of litigation experience.

  • Law firm or federal clerkship experience strongly preferred.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong academic credentials and legal research abilities.

  • Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.

  • Admission to the Michigan bar is required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Michigan State Bar required.

Skills

  • Strong litigation experience, including research and writing.

  • Ability to manage complex litigation matters and work efficiently under pressure.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Client-focused with a high level of professionalism.
