Job Overview: A law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Nursing Home/Assisted Living Facility Attorney to join its team. This role involves providing legal counsel and representation to nursing homes and assisted living facilities on various legal matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and advocating for clients in litigation and regulatory proceedings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and guidance to nursing homes and assisted living facilities on regulatory compliance, patient rights, and facility operations.
  • Represent clients in administrative hearings, court proceedings, and negotiations with governmental agencies.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, policies, and agreements relevant to operating nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the long-term care industry.
  • Advise clients on risk management strategies to mitigate potential legal issues.
  • Handle litigation cases involving allegations of negligence, abuse, or other claims against facilities.
  • Collaborate with other legal professionals, including paralegals and assistants, to prepare legal documents and case materials.
  • Train and educate facility staff on legal compliance and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar.
  • Experience in legal practice focusing on nursing home or assisted living facility law.
  • Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance, healthcare law, and litigation.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.

Skills:

  • Excellent academic credentials with a solid legal research and writing background.
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal matters and litigation.
  • In-depth knowledge of nursing home and assisted living facility regulations.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret laws, regulations, and legal documents.
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
