Patent Agent or Technology Specialist - Biology

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a technology specialist or registered patent agent with a Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, or immunology in Boston, Massachusetts. Duties

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications in molecular biology, immunology, immuno-oncology, genetics, and agricultural biotechnology.
• Collaborate closely with partners and associates on patent strategy, drafting, prosecution, and diligence matters.
• Engage in immediate client contact and assume significant responsibility.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, or immunology.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in patent application preparation and prosecution is beneficial.
• Non-registered patent agents must pass the USPTO registration exam within one year.

Education

• Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, or immunology.

Certifications

• USPTO registration (or willingness to obtain within one year).
