A law firm seeks an Innovation Counsel in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves advancing practice-specific initiatives to maximize the value of innovation technologies and practices. The Innovation Counsel will collaborate with practice group leadership and other teams to drive best practices in legal technology, introducing new tools and processes to enhance the firm's approach.

Duties

  • Support legal technology adoption initiatives impacting practice groups.
  • Design and prepare playbooks for best practices in innovation technologies.
  • Organize presentations, status reports, and executive briefings.
  • Collaborate with leadership to prioritize requests and initiatives.
  • Develop objectives, success metrics, and timelines for technology adoption.
  • Analyze practice group workflows to identify improvement areas.
  • Drive legal technology pilots and continuous improvements.
  • Assist change management teams in developing communication campaigns.
  • Maintain practice group-specific resources and automate efforts.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of applicable experience in legal practice or technology adoption.
  • Active bar membership or registered in-house counsel status.
  • Experience in cross-functional projects involving legal technology teams.
  • Understanding of large law firm financial and work allocation processes.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate or non-US equivalent.

Certifications

  • Active member in good standing of the bar(s) in applicable jurisdictions.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and firm applications.
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
  • Strong presentation skills and experience with varied audiences.
  • Ability to leverage data for insights and storytelling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
