Job Overview: A reputable law firm based in Tampa is seeking an experienced Professional Liability Associate Attorney to join its growing Professional Liability Practice Group. This position involves representing and advising professional clients on a variety of legal matters, including claims avoidance, malpractice, and ethical issues. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in litigation, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced legal team.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to professional clients in matters involving claims avoidance, malpractice, negligence, and ethical concerns.
  • Develop litigation strategies and provide legal analysis for professional liability cases.
  • Conduct discovery, take depositions, draft motions, and represent clients in hearings.
  • Negotiate settlements and work toward favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Manage client relationships and respond to client needs and requests promptly.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to deliver high-quality legal services.

Requirements:

  • Active member in good standing with the Florida Bar.
  • 5-7 years of experience in professional liability litigation.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and grow a book of business (existing book of business is preferred but not required).
  • Strong academic background.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Florida (required).

  • Expertise in professional liability litigation.
