Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Secured Creditors' Rights practice in Norfolk, VA. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced Real Estate and Bankruptcy professionals to provide exceptional service to clients, including leading lenders and mortgage servicers. Candidates should have experience in bankruptcy law, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Duties

  • Provide comprehensive legal representation in bankruptcy and creditors' rights matters.
  • Draft, review, and analyze legal documents such as Motions, Claims, and Objections.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and offer strategic legal advice to clients.
  • Attend hearings to advocate effectively for clients.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, Court staff, and Trustees.

Requirements

  • Currently admitted and in good standing to practice law in Virginia.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with technology.
  • Working knowledge of real estate, title, bankruptcy, and/or debt collection.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated bankruptcy experience preferred, but recent graduates with relevant coursework are encouraged to apply.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Virginia.
