A law firm seeks a Senior Affordable Housing Associate in San Francisco, CA. This role involves working with a diverse team to provide legal counsel on various real estate matters.

Duties

  • Manage the full lifecycle of affordable housing deals, including site control and due diligence.
  • Draft and negotiate core deal documents such as development and partnership agreements.
  • Coordinate with lenders, investors, and government agencies on complex transactions.
  • Advise on HUD programs and state housing finance agency requirements.
  • Handle preservation, resyndications, and rehabilitation projects.

Requirements

  • Six or more years of affordable housing experience.
  • Experience with LIHTC, tax-exempt bond financings, and layered financing structures.
  • Familiarity with HUD programs and mixed-finance projects.
  • JD and active bar membership in good standing.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership.

Skills

  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Ability to manage multi-party, multi-deadline transactions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
