Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The role involves managing legal matters related to bankruptcy and foreclosure cases, including hearings, pleadings, and collaboration with clerical staff. The attorney will also assist the Managing Director with special projects and business development.

Duties

  • Maintain a caseload of bankruptcy and foreclosure cases to meet client expectations.
  • Conduct file reviews, including document production and execution.
  • Attend court hearings in person or via telephone/video conferences.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, management, and employees.
  • Handle all legal matters related to assigned cases.
  • Propose ideas for improving operational efficiencies.
  • Update time billing software and assist in approving bills and invoices.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree.
  • Juris Doctor Degree.
  • License to practice law in the Bankruptcy Courts in the Western and Eastern Districts of Michigan.
  • Maintain good standing in courts of any jurisdiction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Preferred experience in an hourly or flat fee compensation environment.
  • Preferred experience in foreclosure proceedings and/or complex commercial litigation.

Education

  • Undergraduate Degree.
  • Juris Doctor Degree.

Certifications

  • License to practice law in the Bankruptcy Courts in the Western and Eastern Districts of Michigan.
