Job Overview:

A well-regarded family law firm with office Pleasanton is seeking a talented and motivated Associate Attorney to join their team. The firm primarily operates remotely, handling sophisticated family law cases. The ideal candidate will be someone with a strong legal background who is eager to work in a supportive, high-quality legal environment with a focus on growth, both professionally and interpersonally. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with highly respected attorneys, including the local President of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), and be part of a firm known for its high standards of legal work.

Location:

  • Pleasanton, CA

Duties:

  • Handle family law cases, including divorce, custody, support, and property division

  • Manage cases from initial filing through to Judgment/Final Order

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and settlement agreements

  • Represent clients in family law proceedings, including court hearings and mediation sessions

  • Collaborate with colleagues and staff to strategize on complex legal issues

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed of case developments

  • Attend team meetings and contribute to a collaborative work environment

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of legal experience (Required)

  • Family law experience preferred but not required

  • Strong research, writing, and case management skills (Required)

  • Experience managing cases from initial filing to Judgment/Final Order (Preferred)

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, colleagues, and non-attorney staff

  • Open-minded, friendly, and willing to pitch in to help others

  • Must align with the firm’s values: smart, hardworking, friendly, and committed to high-quality work

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (Required)

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar (Required)

Skills:

  • Family law expertise (Preferred but not required)

  • Legal research and writing

  • Case management from filing to judgment

  • Strong communication and client relationship skills

  • Team collaboration and willingness to contribute to firm success
