A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney with 3-7 years of experience to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will handle all aspects of file management, from initial analysis through negotiations to litigation, including conducting party and expert depositions. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team are crucial for success in this role.

Job Duties:

  • Manage all phases of litigation from initial case assessment to trial, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and provide strategic advice to clients.
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, and trials as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
  • Ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar (or ability to waive in).
  • 3-7 years of solid litigation experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Proven track record of handling cases independently from start to finish.
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar (or ability to waive in).

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
