A law firm seeks a bilingual associate attorney in Edwardsville, IL. The role involves representing clients affected by asbestos exposure, preparing cases, and conducting depositions. The position requires significant travel to meet clients and witnesses across the United States.

Duties

  • Represent clients injured by asbestos exposure.
  • Prepare asbestos disease cases in a collaborative environment.
  • Travel extensively to meet clients and witnesses nationwide.
  • Conduct interviews to gather and evaluate information.
  • Examine records such as Social Security, Medical, Military, and Union records.
  • Prepare and conduct depositions of fact witnesses.
  • Summarize testimony from depositions.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of attorney experience; personal injury or asbestos experience preferred.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Licensed to practice law in any state; Missouri and/or Illinois preferred.
  • Must reside in Missouri, Illinois, Florida, Louisiana, California, New York, or Washington D.C.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed attorney in good standing.

Skills

  • Competent in legal procedures and processes.
  • Proficient in legal research and writing.
  • Skilled in MS Office Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and well-organized.
