A law firm seeks an International Trade Partner to join their team in any of their offices located in Chicago, IL; Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, or Dayton, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; Washington, DC; Tampa or Naples, FL. The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial and collaborative, with a proven track record in international trade law.

Duties

  • Advise clients on U.S. regulatory requirements for foreign investments.
  • Guide foreign investors through the CFIUS review process.
  • Provide counsel on U.S. Customs and import compliance.
  • Assist with trade preference programs and trade remedies.
  • Offer guidance on U.S. export regulations and sanctions.
  • Communicate with regulators on investigations and settlements.
  • Engage in trade litigation as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in international trade law.
  • Ability to manage a small book of business.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Skills

  • Expertise in U.S. Customs and trade regulations.
  • Familiarity with CFIUS and trade preference programs.
  • Proficiency in export administration and sanctions compliance.
