Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Evictions Associate Attorney in Clackamas, OR. The attorney will manage a caseload across Oregon and Washington, working with support staff and reporting to the Managing Partner. The role requires active bar membership in either Oregon or Washington, with a preference for dual licensure. Experience in eviction law or related fields is advantageous, and jury trial experience is highly valued. The candidate must be proactive, team-oriented, and capable of independent work, with strong communication skills for client interactions.

Duties

  • Handle all aspects of eviction cases in Oregon and Washington.
  • Attend court hearings, both in-person and virtually.
  • Prepare and review eviction case documentation.
  • Draft civil litigation documents, including discovery and motions.
  • Stay informed on landlord and tenant laws and ordinances.
  • Communicate directly with clients and manage inquiries.
  • Write and edit reports, opinions, and client notifications.

Requirements

  • Active membership in the OR or WA State Bars, in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in landlord/tenant evictions or related fields.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools like WestLaw or LexisNexis.
  • Ability to work remotely and in-office efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in Oregon or Washington.
