Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Counsel to join its Tax & Employee Benefits Department in Richmond, Virginia. The role involves providing comprehensive advisory services in private wealth law, assisting clients with wealth, tax, and fiduciary matters, and advising on estate and succession planning.

Duties

  • Advise clients on sophisticated estate planning and transfer tax issues.
  • Manage trust and estate administration and fiduciary advice matters.
  • Collaborate with client, business, and legal teams to achieve client goals.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a trusts and estates practice.
  • Strong understanding of estate tax, gift tax, and GST tax issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Membership in the Virginia State Bar.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Virginia State Bar license.
