Job Overview

A law firm seeks a full-time Associate Defense Attorney in Los Angeles, California, specializing in asbestos and product liability litigation. This position is suited for attorneys with early to mid-level experience eager to engage in complex defense matters within a supportive and collaborative legal environment.

Duties

  • Manage and support asbestos and product liability litigation cases.
  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Handle written discovery, including drafting and responding to requests.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings and proceedings.
  • Assist with case strategy and trial preparation.
  • Make in-person court appearances as required.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant litigation experience in asbestos, toxic tort, or product liability matters preferred.
  • Experience handling discovery, motion practice, and depositions is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage litigation responsibilities effectively.
  • Willingness to attend in-person proceedings when necessary.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
