Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Probate Litigation Attorney with 4-8 years of experience to join its Trusts & Estates practice in Scottsdale, Arizona. This position offers the opportunity to manage complex probate litigation matters within a collaborative, mid-size firm environment.

Duties

  • Manage probate and trust litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and settlement documentation.
  • Conduct and defend depositions.
  • Appear in court for hearings, conferences, mediations, and trials.
  • Advise fiduciaries and beneficiaries on risk assessment, strategy, and dispute resolution.
  • Collaborate with estate planning attorneys on intersecting issues.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of experience in probate, trust, or estate litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of probate law, trust law, and civil procedure.
  • Demonstrated experience with discovery, motion practice, and court appearances.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong client-service orientation and professional judgment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Arizona Bar admission (or ability to obtain promptly).
