A law firm seeks a highly motivated Intellectual Property Patent Agent with at least 2 years of experience in life sciences patenting in Naples, FL. This role offers an opportunity for candidates with an advanced degree and strong background in biological sciences to engage in sophisticated patent matters for a diverse client base.

Duties

  • Prepare, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications in the life sciences sector.
  • Advise clients on patent issues throughout the product lifecycle, including strategic consultation and portfolio management.
  • Collaborate with clients, colleagues, the USPTO, and foreign associates on patent prosecution matters.
  • Contribute to a collaborative environment that supports professional growth and client service excellence.

 

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience as a patent agent in biotechnology.
  • Experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications related to biologics or large-molecule technologies.
  • Experience in conducting searches and analyses for freedom-to-operate, IP due diligence, and patent landscape assessments.
  • Registration to practice before the USPTO in good standing.
  • Prior law firm experience preferred.
  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States.

 

Education

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in biological sciences, e.g., molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, immunology, genetics.

 

Certifications

  • Registration to practice before the USPTO.
