Tax Associate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Tax Associate for its Milwaukee office. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience in complex federal transactional tax matters. Candidates in Austin, Kansas City, Milwaukee, St. Louis, or Washington, D.C. are strongly preferred. An active bar license in the corresponding state is required or must be obtained promptly.

Duties

• Advise on business entity formations, mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations.
• Provide guidance on state and local tax matters, including income, franchise, sales, and use tax.
• Collaborate with non-profit and for-profit clients on federal tax issues.

Requirements

• Minimum of four years of experience in federal transactional tax matters.
• Active bar license in the relevant state or commitment to obtain one.
• Experience with both non-profit and for-profit clients preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active bar membership in the relevant state.
