Life Sciences Licensing Associate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly qualified licensing mid-level associate with 3-5 years of experience to join their Life Sciences group in Boston. Fluency in Mandarin is required, and experience working in Asia is strongly preferred.

Duties

• Draft and negotiate intellectual property licenses, including patent and trademark licenses.
• Engage in joint development, collaboration, and strategic alliance agreements.
• Handle technology licenses and services agreements, including software as a service agreements.
• Manage distribution agreements and perform intellectual property and technology transaction due diligence for corporate transactions and technology transfers.

Requirements

• Experience in intellectual property licensing, technology transfer, and technology transactions.
• Experience in IP support of corporate transactions in the life sciences sector.
• General experience working in teams and managing substantial components of transactions independently.
• Outstanding academic credentials and comparable law firm experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Relevant bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Bar admission in relevant jurisdiction.
