Job Overview:
A reputable and fast-paced general law practice in Lynnwood, Washington is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney with experience in or a strong interest in criminal defense. This role is ideal for a motivated and independent legal professional who is passionate about helping individuals navigate challenging legal matters. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload and play an active role in all phases of client representation, from initial consultation through trial.

Location:

  • Lynnwood, Washington

Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of criminal defense cases

  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence

  • Conduct legal research and discovery

  • Represent clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials

  • Provide empathetic and clear legal advice to clients

  • Accurately calendar all deadlines, hearings, and key dates with staff assistance

  • Consult with and onboard new clients

  • Collaborate with the Managing Attorney and team on complex legal issues

  • Manage multiple assignments efficiently and independently

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a legal team

  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills

  • Commitment to high-quality legal service

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Willingness to take initiative and ownership of responsibilities

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

  • OR foreign law degree plus LLM

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Washington

Skills:

  • Legal research and analytical abilities

  • Client counseling and courtroom advocacy

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal skills for client and team interaction
