Associate - Registered Investment Funds

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate for the Registered Investment Funds team in Chicago, IL. This role offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary practice, engaging in business development and client-facing activities.

Duties

• Collaborate with shareholders on investment services projects.
• Participate in business development and client-facing activities.
• Manage multiple matters simultaneously.
• Play a key role in transactions related to investment company reorganizations or mergers.

Requirements

• 4-7 years of experience with registered investment companies and investment advisers.
• Experience with federal securities laws, including the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Securities Act of 1933.
• Experience with mutual funds, ETFs, closed-end funds, and/or independent trustees and directors.
• Admitted in, or taking steps to become admitted in, the applicable jurisdiction.

Education

• J.D. degree with strong academic credentials.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction.

• Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
