Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join its Financial Services Practice Group in Seattle. The role involves representing clients in financial services transactions, focusing on payment systems and technology industries. The successful candidate will work with a diverse range of top-tier clients on complex projects, offering excellent growth potential.

Duties

  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including credit card programs and payment processing agreements.
  • Advise clients on transaction structuring and competitive RFPs.
  • Collaborate with clients to provide strategic legal advice aligned with their business objectives.
  • Conduct legal research to support transactions and ensure compliance with laws.
  • Participate in payments-related M&A transactions, preparing documentation and coordinating with parties.
  • Maintain communication with clients, providing timely updates on transaction progress.
  • Adapt to unexpected developments in transactions, offering innovative legal solutions.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
  • Three to six years of experience in financial transactions, preferably in payment systems or technology industries.
  • Experience with complex M&A or credit transactions is desirable.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Interest in financial technology and emerging payment systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
