Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Manassas, Virginia, with opportunities for remote work. Duties

  • Represent clients in collection cases and landlord-tenant disputes in Virginia and Maryland.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Appear in court to argue motions and present trials.
  • Conduct discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery requests, taking depositions, and preparing witnesses.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsels, courts, and other parties.
  • Attend court hearings, trials, and mediations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely billing records.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Virginia and/or Maryland bar.
  • 1-3 years of experience in collections and landlord-tenant disputes preferred.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to commute to Virginia and Maryland as needed.

Education

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Virginia and/or Maryland bar.
