Job Overview

A law firm seeks a full-time Associate Attorney to join its practice in Texas. This role offers the opportunity to engage in a diverse range of consumer protection legal matters, including transactional and civil litigation. The position requires remote communication with the firm's headquarters in New York City.

Duties

  • Maintain and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of clients in Texas.
  • Communicate with clients regarding their respective matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and review and draft agreements.
  • Communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims.
  • Conduct legal research on simple and complex issues in contract and consumer law.
  • Travel for in-court appearances as required.

Requirements

  • Must be currently admitted to practice law in Texas; multi-state admission is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm.
  • Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Highest ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with senior management and employees at all levels.
  • Strong legal research skills; proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the Texas State Bar.
