Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Transactional Bankruptcy Associate to join their team in Sacramento, California. This position focuses on advising clients through complex financial transactions, workouts, sale transactions, and insolvency matters, emphasizing non-litigation aspects of bankruptcy and restructuring.

Duties

  • Advise clients on bankruptcy-related transactions, sales, restructurings, and workouts.
  • Draft and negotiate agreements related to Chapter 11 matters, debtor-in-possession financing, and restructuring plans.
  • Analyze financial and legal risks associated with distressed transactions.
  • Coordinate with litigation counsel, financial advisors, and opposing counsel as needed.
  • Provide strategic guidance on insolvency alternatives and compliance issues.

Requirements

  • Active California Bar membership.
  • 3-10+ years of experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, or insolvency-related transactional work.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Chapter 11 bankruptcy transactions preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • California Bar membership.
