A well-established law firm in Miami, Florida is seeking a bilingual Associate Attorney to join its growing criminal defense practice. This full-time role involves direct client interaction, court representation, and active involvement in the preparation and execution of defense strategies. Ideal candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong communication skills, especially in Spanish, to serve a diverse client base.

Location

Duties

  • Represent clients in hearings, trials, and other court proceedings

  • Communicate with clients regarding case updates, legal strategies, and plea offers

  • Review discovery and prepare for trial or negotiation

  • Draft and file motions, pleadings, and other legal documents

  • Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients and provide legal advice

  • Maintain accurate and organized case files

  • Negotiate on behalf of clients in plea deals and other resolutions

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in criminal defense or a related field (preferred but not required)

  • Ability to handle a high volume of cases efficiently

  • Availability to travel locally for court appearances

  • Strong commitment to delivering client-focused legal representation

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the Florida Bar in good standing

Skills

  • Fluency in Spanish (required)

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Critical thinking and legal analysis ability

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build client trust and rapport

  • Resilience under pressure in a fast-moving legal setting
