Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Overland Park, KS. The ideal candidate will be licensed in Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and/or Colorado, with 0-3 years of litigation experience.

Duties

• Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, and settlement agreements.
• Manage a fast-paced, high-volume workload efficiently.
• Collaborate with support staff and other attorneys to enhance productivity.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing attorneys, and pro se litigants.
• Exercise independent judgment on case progress and resolution.
• Make weekly court appearances, including travel for dockets, motion hearings, and trials.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by partners.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and/or Colorado.
• 0-3 years of litigation experience.
• Ability to work full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Bar membership in Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and/or Colorado.

Skills

• Strong legal writing and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
