Senior Defense Litigation Attorney - General Liability

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Defense Litigation Attorney specializing in general liability to join their Portland, Oregon office. This role offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement and provides opportunities for hands-on litigation experience and direct client interaction.

Duties

• Independently manage a diverse litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff in a team-oriented environment.
• Handle all aspects of litigation, from case inception through trial.
• Develop and implement case strategies aligned with client objectives.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing timely updates and recommendations.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Evaluate liability and damages issues and assist in negotiating settlements.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Oregon.
• 9+ years of litigation experience in relevant areas.
• Strong analytical, writing, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience handling client communications and developing relationships.
• First chair trial experience preferred.
• Familiarity with legal project management and litigation technology is preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Oregon.
