Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate with expertise in General Liability and/or Toxic Tort to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of defense litigation experience and be admitted to practice in California.

Duties

  • Handle local and national accounts throughout California.
  • Independently manage a litigation caseload.
  • Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for deposition and trial.
  • Review and analyze discovery requests.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests, pleadings, and motions.
  • Provide trial preparation and support.
  • Maintain accurate time records.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of defense litigation experience.
  • Experience in General Liability, Product Liability, Complex Litigation, Toxic Tort Liability, or Environmental Liability preferred.
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice in California.
  • Experience with motion practice and depositions.
  • Experience taking lead in plaintiff and expert depositions.
  • Capable of independent work and organized, efficient manner.
  • Superior research and writing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and analyze complex matters.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice in the state of California.
