Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Cyber Incident Response Associate Attorney in Boston, Massachusetts. This role offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement and involves handling cybersecurity and data privacy incidents. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment, providing legal guidance and support to clients.

Duties

  • Respond to cybersecurity and data privacy incidents.
  • Analyze state, federal, and international data breach and privacy laws.
  • Draft legal notices of data breaches to individuals and regulators.
  • Respond to regulatory investigations related to data breaches.
  • Oversee forensic investigations and third-party vendors for e-Discovery.
  • Advise clients on legal notification obligations under State/Federal laws.
  • Draft breach notification letters and crisis communications.
  • Interface with clients, including senior management and IT staff.
  • Prepare legal budgets and reports to insurance carriers and clients.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to Bar in good standing.
  • 3+ years of legal experience, with a focus on data privacy and security.
  • Strong knowledge of data breach and privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
  • IT or technical background is a plus.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player.

Education

  • JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to Bar in good standing.
