Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Administrative Attorney in Reno, NV, to provide comprehensive legal support and make a significant impact on clients' lives. This role involves assisting the Intake Department, covering for absent associates, and specializing in DIR death benefit claims and workers' compensation litigation.

Duties

  • Ensure daily clearance of case management software (CMS) feed.
  • Complete all assigned tasks by relevant due dates.
  • Clear emails daily and document cases in CMS.
  • Assist the Intake Department to meet potential new clients efficiently.
  • Handle death benefit claims with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR).
  • Provide expert advice on active Workers' Compensation cases.
  • Monitor and manage assigned cases during attorney absences.
  • Draft non-routine correspondence during attorney absences.
  • Review determinations to meet case goals when covering for primary attorneys.
  • Direct timely appeals of issues when appropriate.
  • Oversee client communication on litigation issues while covering for primary attorneys.
  • Attend hearings and advocate for assigned clients.
  • Participate in administrative and leadership team meetings.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited institution with a Juris Doctor degree.
  • Licensed to practice law in Nevada and in good standing with the Nevada State Bar.
  • Valid Nevada driver's license and insurance.
  • Thorough knowledge of legal principles and research techniques.
  • Excellent legal drafting, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment.
  • Detail-oriented, diligent, and flexible.
  • Ability to handle conflicting time demands independently.
  • Proficient command of the English language.
  • Committed to maintaining integrity and confidentiality.

Education

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Nevada.
