Job Overview: A law firm in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking an associate attorney to support the advancement of various personal injury cases, including motor vehicle collisions, slips and falls and wrongful deaths. The role involves managing client inquiries, interacting with current clients, assisting with insurance claims, reviewing medical records, and participating in litigation matters.

Duties:

  • Manage potential client inquiries, conduct phone screenings, and schedule client meetings, utilizing case management and file management systems.
  • Interact with current clients to obtain treatment updates, address concerns, and ensure a client-centric experience.
  • Assist in opening and managing insurance claims, including reporting new claims and corresponding with adjusters and representatives.
  • Request and review medical records and billing statements, utilizing them to draft settlement demands.
  • Participate in litigation matters, such as drafting pleadings, responding to discovery requests, attending hearings, and calendaring deadlines.

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience minimum.
  • Preferably a demonstrated track record in personal injury or litigation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet applications.
  • Advanced technical and legal writing skills, with knowledge of legal terminology.
  • Superb accuracy and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others throughout personal injury cases.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of New Mexico.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet applications.
