Job Overview:
A law firm based in Indianapolis, IN, is expanding its legal team and is seeking an experienced attorney to support clients across a spectrum of real estate and business law matters. This position offers the opportunity to manage transactions, resolve property-related disputes, and advise emerging and established business clients on legal formation and operations. The role demands sharp analytical skills, meticulous document review capabilities, and a client-focused approach to legal problem-solving.

Duties:

  • Handle residential and commercial real estate transactions from start to finish, including closings and contract negotiations

  • Draft, review, and revise property-related legal documents, ensuring legal soundness and alignment with client goals

  • Address and resolve title issues, land sale contracts, and disputes involving landlord-tenant relationships

  • Assist in transactions involving tax sale deeds, sheriff’s sales, and For Sale By Owner (FSBO) cases

  • Advise clients on business formation options and entity structuring

  • Draft and negotiate business contracts and operational agreements

  • Guide legal compliance and risk mitigation strategies for small to mid-size businesses

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience handling real estate transactions and business law matters

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple matters concurrently and meet critical deadlines

  • High attention to detail and legal accuracy in document preparation

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Indiana State Bar and in good standing

Skills:

  • Proficiency in real estate contract drafting and review

  • Strong negotiation skills in property and business contexts

  • Familiarity with title issues, FSBO, and foreclosure-related documentation

  • Knowledge of business formation processes and legal compliance requirements

  • Client-focused approach with problem-solving mindset
