Commercial Litigation Associate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a litigation associate with 3-6 years of experience to join its Commercial Litigation practice in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling complex commercial disputes and a keen interest in Illinois federal and state trial work.

Duties

• Handle complex commercial disputes, including contract, business tort, and trade secret litigation.
• Manage discovery, draft pleadings and motions, and conduct depositions.
• Appear in state and federal court, including trial preparation and support.
• Work directly with clients on case strategy and counseling.

Requirements

• Experience in researching, drafting, and arguing motions in civil disputes in Illinois state and federal court.
• Experience responding to subpoenas and managing high-volume discovery.
• Familiarity with Illinois procedural law and Cook County court systems.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
